Ryman Healthcare Retirement Village on Green Wedge - Mt ELiza
On Dec 28th VCAT approved a proposal by Ryman Healthcare to build a retirement village at Kunyung RD, Mt Eliza. They previously have had several failed attempts to get this project approved, however unfortunately succeeded in this latest push.
The village is an incursion on Green Wedge land.
The design and scale of this project is inappropriate, it is an overdevelopment and obviously is another development chipping away at our Green Wedge.
The branch is strongly opposed to this development and we are mobilising with other groups and stakeholders to challenge this ruling.
The local MP news has been covering the issue and you can read the latest content here
Mornington Peninsula News .. 4th Oct 2022
GREENS WANT BALANCE OF POWER
At our campaign launch we heard from Samantha Ratnam, Leader of the Vic Greens, Mat Morgan, Candidate for Eastern Victoria Upper house and each of our local three candidates. We have a strong set of State policies to take into this election and now more than ever the Mornington Peninsula is threatened by the Liberals trying to reclassify our zoning. We’ll do all we can stop the Liberals and similar conservative views destroying the values we hold for the Mornington Peninsula.
